FAQs

Why is your website so rubbish & do you really exist?

Fair point. We're not web designers so it's not really our thing. And yes WE DO EXIST! To be honest we've been so busy running vanomos that we're only really now getting round to commissioning a proper website. It should be up and running by Christmas 2011 at the latest.

Why can't we see any images of your vehicles?

See above - jpegs, pdfs tifs this web stuff is a minefield. And we have a not very good web template to be honest. However we'll happily provide images, dimensions and references, and even try to asign you a specific vehicle so you can give the registration to the ferry company (if you're using one) .

Can anyone drive your vehicles?

If you are over 25 and have a valid UK or European driving licence then there should be no problems. If you can drive a car, then driving a Luton or Transit should present few issues. All we ask is that you take a little extra care – these vehicles are likely to be a little longer, wider or taller than what you’re used to.

If you are aged 23-25 then we can make arrangements, but there may be an extra charge. Likewise if you have endorsements on your licence, then call us to discuss.

What if I need a driver?

We can provide drivers, but obviously there will be an additional charge for this.

You also offer logistics?

Yes, we are able to offer a courier or dedicated transportation service on request - call or email us for more information.

Will I be insured to drive your vehicles?

The designated driver will be fully insured whether travelling in the UK or across Europe. Additional drivers can be added on request.

Can I return your vehicles out off normal business hours?

Early in the morning, late at night or over the weekend – it shouldn’t be a problem. Call or email to let us know what you need, and we’ll always try and accommodate you.

What is the capacity of your vehicles?

Our Lutons have a maximum weight limit of 3.5 tonnes, and the transits the same, but a Luton is significantly larger so that reduces the weight capacity (c 1,000kg v 1,500kg for the Transits).

The Lutons have an average capacity of 19 cubic metres and our Long-Wheel base Transits around 11 cubic metres.

How many people can fit in your vehicles?

All vehicles have a front bench + driver seat in the cab that fit three people.

What is the fuel consumption of your vehicles?

As we run a modern fleet, our vans are relatively fuel-efficient – but on average you will get around 30-35 miles per gallon (mpg) but the heavier the vehicle the lower the average mpg will be.

Are there restrictions on what I can carry in your vehicles?

Obviously there are restrictions against carrying prohibited or dangerous substances, and be aware also that customs are likely to take an keen interest in self-drive vehicles travelling cross-border, but beyond that, if it fits and doesn’t cause the vehicle to exceed the weight limit (3.5 tonnes for Transits and Lutons) you can carry it.

Can I carry pets in your vehicle?

Yes, but please take extra care to avoid any damage or soiling of the vehicle interiors. Cats and dogs, like humans, can occasionally be prone to travel sickness.

I'm a student - can I rent a vehicle?

Not a problem - lifelong learning, that's what we're all about. We're happy to discuss any help you may need, including providing a driver if you are under 25 (or 23 in some instances) and can't find your own.

A useful site for those moving to the UK for College or University is this one... Student-movers-forum.com - an international directory for students moving across the country and internationally.
